Dalton was saved by the bell this week. Fearing we were going to run out of another tube size by the end of next month – we were able to work with our tube supplier to come up with an ingenious solution to get us out of troubling out of stock situation.
Throughout the pandemic, Dalton has held themselves to a very high bar level of performance. They worked aggressively to ensure lead times and expectations were met even when they were nearly shut down due to COVID.
While many of suppliers lead times jumped, doubled or more we have kept steady at four weeks. Dalton has terrific suppliers and most of them are nowhere near this mark. Our ability to hold to a 4-week delivery is a testament to our teams commitment to you – our trusted and loyal customers.
Another reason why we get while others wait – is we pay our vendors promptly. While the big guys throw their weight around and dictate terms to suppliers, we at Dalton treat our suppliers the way we wish to be treated – like partners in our business. Our success is their success.
Over the last two weeks our engineering, purchasing and production team pulled another rabbit out of our collective hat and found a local company to produce our clip supports and mounting brackets. We are finally seeing raw material inventory begin to build. Meanwhile, uncertain times are ahead, and we are prepared to adapt and act.
