Of these 14 categories of Contrinex Inductive Proxes, the largest one by number and is the Basic Inductive Proxes. The Basic category can be detailed into physical size and corresponding sensing range, quick-disconnect or potted-cable, shielded or un-shielded, tubular/rectangular/square body, material composition, end-sensing or 90 degree sensing.
Sensing range is proportional to sensing face diameter. Sensing range in this most popular Basic category is from 1.5 mm up to 40 mm.
The other Contrinex categories, mentioned above, are designed for the demanding needs of that particular application. The 2-Wire are essentially easy installations where only 2 wires are available, and the sensor is not only powered by those 2 wires, but also effectively switches the load directly as it is in series with that load.
The Contrinex Analog Output are available with 0-5V/0-10Vdc output, proportional to distance to the respective target.
The Contrinex Weld-Immune products do not false trigger in the presence of strong weld fields.
The Contrinex Chip-Immune resist false triggers within reason, when chips of metal from the machining process adhere to the sensors face due to cutting fluids used to prolong tool life.
Continex shielded and unshielded address the trade-off between the longer range of un-shielded inductive proxes, versus the shorter range of the shielded design and its ability to flush mount in ferrous metals without false triggers.
Contrinex High Pressure are available up to 1000 Bar peak, and Contrinx Extra High Temperature are available upt to +230 degrees C.
Many of Contrinex Inductive Prox sensors are rated to IP-67, and are I/O-Link compatible.
