Pfannenberg’s original Filterfan® was one of the first thermal management products to cool electronics using natural convection for indoor, outdoor, and washdown applications. Throughout the last 60 years, they have continued to pioneer this technology.
The externally mounted Datawind Filterfan® was designed for the new IT space, the manufacturing floor. As IT moves away from the clean rooms and closer to the manufacturing equipment, cooling requirements and equipment need to change.
This new Datawind Filterfan® delivers the same advantages as our Filterfans 4.0, protecting your IT equipment in much dirtier manufacturing environments without sacrificing critical rack space.

Pfannenberg Datawind Filterfans® are certified for Indoor Use (NEMA 12/IP55) providing electrical enclosure with protection against water and dust. Thanks to its externally-mounted design, this Filterfan® allows the cooling of enclosures built without room for any protrusion.
- Perfect Design for IT Racks: More racks allowed in the cabinet thanks to the externally mounted Filterfan®.
- Maintenance Indication Light: LED indicator warns when the temperature exceeds the desired temperature inside the cabinet. Indication of fan malfunction or clogged filter.
- Zero protrusion into the enclosure: Externally mounted, allowing for full use of all racks within the bays.
- 30° Slope Top: Designed to avoid dust collection and improve safety.
- Fits existing Filterfan® cutout: Only need to drill mounting holes with power tools. Pre-existing 2.5” hole cut to allow pass through wiring.
- Filterfan 4.0™ Benefits: Design based on the Filterfan 4.0™ line to provide the same airflow as standard Filterfans® using a fluted filter mat with a 3x longer service life. The Datawind Filterfan® is also designed to be used with our existing PFA exhaust filters.
- IEC Power Connector 6ft cable: Located on center of fan to allow door to hinge in both directions. Fan side – IEC C13 plug with lock mechanism. Power side – NEMA 5-15P (115v) and IEC C14 (230v)
- Cable to adjustable thermostat: 13ft length cable to an adjustable thermostat with DIN mount bracket to allow fan to toggle on/off depending on cooling need. This feature extends both fan and filter lives.
- Versatile Options: Available in Black (RAL 9004) and White (RAL 9003). 115v and 230v options also available with three unimpeded airflow ratings (38, 152, and 560 CFM).
