DuraGuard offers three types of Amber lighting; Amber LED, LPS Replacement, and Amber Turtle-Safe. A wide variety of lighting applications are available within each. Learn more about each Amber fixture below.
Amber LED
AmberLEDs operate between 586 and 595 Nanometers (nm), exceeding the 560 nm required for wildlife protection. Ideal for dark sky applications and nature preserve zones that require low light levels
LPS Replacement PC Amber
LED Low Pressure Sodium Replacement luminaires are designed to provide a direct 1-to-1 replacement for 35w Low Pressure Sodium (LPS) lighting systems. These luminaires are used for dark sky applications for city centers and suburban zones that allow higher light levels. They are also ideal for lighting near observatories for better star viewing.
Amber Turtle-Safe
The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) protects sea turtles from light pollution with certified fixtures that meet the following requirements:
- Fully shielded and directed downward
- Light source shall be long (wavelength 560 nanometer light)
- Low wattage fixture = low brightness
All DuraGuard Amber Turtle-Safe fixtures are certified by the FWC.
