Hyde Park is a manufacturer of ultra-sonic sensors and their accessories. The company was founded in 1958, and now has likely the most complete, most sophisticated line of ultra-sonic sensors with the functionality uncommon in the industry.
The basic form of products that Hyde Park offers is proximity mode, and through-beam mode. Proximity mode verifies target present by a return echo from the target itself, or in the background mode, absence of a return echo from the background. Through-beam mode is using a separate sender and separate receiver, and the target is detected by the loss of the signal reaching the receiver. Both modes have their advantages and trade-offs. For almost every proximity mode sensor Hyde Park offers, there is a corresponding through-beam model of the same physical form. Hyde Park is located in Dayton, OH.
With over 400 different model/model variations, the Hyde Park SM900 Series is a very diverse family of 30 mm diameter ultra-sonics proximity mode sensors. There is a single, push-button on the sensor body, and two LED indicators. The push-button is used to set the near and far sensing limits. One LED indicator is multi-color for status indication, while the other LED is output indication.
The SM900 Series is offered in either discrete or analog outputs. Sensing range is in different models starting from 2 inches up to 26 feet. All SM900 models are operational from approximately 12-24 vdc input.
Most discrete models are available in variations of both NPN and PNP, dual NPN, dual PNP, or complimentary NPN or complimentary PNP outputs, depending on the family selected. Quick-disconnect or potted cable are connection options on all models.
Hyde Park SM900 analog models are offered in 0-10 v or 4-20 ma output, and by part number are either direct or inverse operation of the analog signal.
The Hyde Park with its ultra-sonic source, senses all legitimate targets equally well, and is well suited for dirty, dusty environments. Because of the range of models, from 1 meter, 2 meter, and 8 meter max, coupled with analog or discrete output, the Hyde Park SM900 Series is typically used for target presence, product counting, product level control, roll diameter, and web loop control. The Hyde Park SM900 Series sensor is Nema 4X/IP-67 hose-down/wash-down, and is well suited for the demanding applications of the Food & Beverage industry.
