For over the last 30 plus years, Vynckier has offered an extensive line of non-metallic electrical enclosures. Materials used include FRP (fiberglass reinforced polyester), polycarbonate; Valox, polystyrene; or thermoplastic, with some clear covers made from polycarbonate. Bases and covers made from FRP offered more strength, lighter weight, unsurpassed corrosion resistance, easier penetration of enclosure walls and covers, and lower cost compared to competitive, stainless steel enclosures.
Some Vynckier models were available with either back plates or back places and front plates, for ease of mounting inner electrical components without violating enclosure seal integrity.
Those Vynckier enclosures with gasket seals between the cover and base use a poured, polyurethane foam, which was contiguous, and retained its memory for optimum enclosure integrity.
Depending on the Series offered, some Vynckier enclosures included molded-in mounting flanges for strength, and stainless hinges and one or more latches. Other models were available with removable covers for optimum access during servicing of inner electrical components
Vynckier’s exterior and interior dimensions are clearly stated, with the former logically indicated in the model part number.
Covers are offered as either opaque, raised, clear, bonded window, or gasketed window. The raised covers are ideal for installing electrical components which have greater depth, yet retaining the same physical length x width size.
Vynckier also offered smaller, Flex-O-Box enclosures as junction boxes for wiring, as well as large Pedestals with integral legs, typically for exterior mounting off-of the ground.
The Vynckier line of Climate Control Accessories include control panel electric heaters with and without integral fans, thermostats, and humidity controls, and temperature and humidity controls.
On 4-1-21, nVent Electric/Hoffman, a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions bought Vynckier Enclosures. The quality Vynckier product line still exists, but now under the new ownership.
