Spot lights are extremely compact, robust and powerful at the same time. Thanks to the integrated zoom lens, the light can be precisely focused or diffused. They are ideal for point-precise illumination in industrial image processing, industrial automation, robotics, as well as for near and far-range identification applications.
Features:
- Zoom Lens
- Polarization Filters
- IP67 Degree of Protection
- Simple Mounting
- Strobe and Continuous Mode
- Three Light Sources
Illumination Methods with Spot Lights:
Illumination and vision systems that use spot lights typically work with the following illumination methods. Further specific methods are detailed in the descriptions of the individual products.
Bright Field: Using spot lights as an incident light causes reflections on the surface of the object being inspected due to the direct illumination.
Low Angle: Placing spot lights at a flat angle creates contrast along the edges of the object, resulting in minimal illumination of the surface.
Darkfield: When spot lights are aligned flat, they clearly accentuate the contours of the object’s edges, while only a small proportion of light falls on the remaining surface.
Advantages for Industrial Image Processing:

Versatile Light Sources:
Wenglor spot lights are extremely powerful and bright, with an illumination intensity of up to 360,000 lux in strobe mode overdrive. They are available in the light sources white light, red light and infrared light.
Classification in the electromagnetic spectrum:
- White light 5,700 K
- Red light 630 nm
- Infrared light 850 nm
Flexibility of the Zoom Lens:
The lockable zoom lens allows a variable beam angle in the range of 4 to 26 degrees with constant homogeneity. With precise position repeatability, it provides precise visual field alignment to achieve optimal illumination with perfect Gaussian curve and high intensity. The easy manual adjustment allows quick adaptation to different working distances and makes the spot light ideal for industrial image processing applications where flexible illumination is of great importance.
Spot Light Applications:
Before installing interior parts in passenger cars, the mounting elements must be checked for their presence and correct position. For this purpose, a smart camera with one spot light per side is mounted on a cobot. Due to the light weight and small size of the illuminations, they can be attached directly to the robotic arm. While the cobot scans the parts to be inspected, the spot lights provide precise illumination of the elements so that the camera can reliably detect each mounting element.
