Tri-Tronics is a manufacturer of photoelectric sensors, fiber-optics, control modules, and accessories. Tri-Tronics is located in Tampa, Florida, and has been in business since 1954. Their product line is very diverse in functionality, from fully-featured products to cost-effective products with no frills. While some of Tri-Tronics products are for general purpose, they have many products dedicated for specific applications. One of the newer products from Tri-Tronics is the Clear Label sensor. It is a fork-sensor, with a slot that accepts the clear film, and senses the distinction between clear label and clear web. It can also sense the difference between a translucent web and a clear label on the web. The Tri-Tronics Clear Label sensor has an ultra-sonic transmitter, and an ultra-sonic receiver. With its through-beam ultra-sonic mode of operation, color of the web or label material is irrelevant. In initial set-up, the sensor is shown the web material without the label and the Auto-set button automatically optimizes the senor for the material. The sensor also provides for manual tweaking should the application benefit from intervention.
The Tri-Tronics Clear Label sensor has an OLED display, so more information regarding setting and performance are visually communicate to the operator. It features a 10-LED Contrast Indicator display, as well as numerical, digital display of performance. With its menu system, there are selectable timers. Both NPN and PNP outputs are available by wire selection.
