Tri-Tronics is located in Tampa, Florida, and has been in business since 1954. Their product line is very diverse in functionality, from fully-featured products to cost-effective products. While some of Tri-Tronics products are for general purpose, they have many products dedicated for specific applications.
One of the more recent Tri-Tronics products is the Label-Eye Sensor, LERC. It is a slot, or fork sensor, designed for the web material, with its adhesive labels, to pass through. It uses a through-beam photo-eye sensor to detect the labels versus the web material only. In this manner, it is an opacity mode sensor.
The Tri-Tronics LERC Label-Eye sensor features the push-button, Auto-Set initial set-up. The user merely needs to show the sensor the web material without the label, and use the Auto-Set feature. The Auto-Set offers an automated, initial set-up. The Auto-set develops an optimum initial set-up, and a consistent set-up, independent of operator skills. This Auto-set is the only initial setup, and does not require any manual adjustment thereafter. .
Other variations of the Tri-Tronics LERC Label-Eye sensor are an Ultra-high Speed model, with 10 micro-seconds response time and 5 micro-seconds repeatability. The Tri-Tronics Label-Eye and the Ultra-high Speed Label-Eye sensors are available with quick-disconnect or potted cables.
