Type 4 Luminaries

Type IV FixturesThinking outside the box always leads to great new benefits and solutions. Think outside the Type V box and choose Type IV fixtures. While many designers still believe that two Type III or Type V luminaires are the best choices for parking lot poles, Type IV luminaires provide the best option!Historically HID parking lot layouts used two 400W MH Type III or Type V luminaires mounted at 180° on poles in the center of large parking areas. Based on HID lamp and reflector designs, this was a reasonable choice.Today, due to significant optical performance improvements related to the small size and intensity of LED diodes, light distribution spreads further and is more uniform.3D Footcandle ChartsCompare these Type III, IV, and V Footcandle charts, and you will find that the Type IV chart provides the largest uniform lighting area. Each 3D Footcandle chart displays two KH45Q fixtures mount at 180°, 25 feet high.Save with Type IV by illuminating more space with fewer fixtures. With two Type 4 luminaires at 180°, the spacing between poles increases from 110 to 150 feet with the same wattage fixture.
